Camp Emerson offers an opportunity for Scouts to spend a week at Summer Camp without having to come with their Troop. Come by yourself or with a buddy, and we will provide a Scoutmaster and Troop leadership for all provisional Scouts in attendance. Scouts will work on merit badges and rank advancements, make new friends, and make memories. Every Scout should get the chance to enjoy all the programs offered at Legendary Camp Emerson like our; mountain bike trail, swimming pool, canoeing, archery range, and our brand new climbing tower! Camp Emerson is located in Idyllwild, California approximately a 1 hour drive from Riverside, Corona, San Bernardino, Redlands, and the Temecula areas. all this adventure is located in practically your backyard! | | New | Elder Kevin Miskin receives Silver Beaver | | | Congratulations Elder Kevin Miskin, who was recognized with Silver Beaver Award for his contributions to Scouting at the LDS Relationships Meeting on Tuesday, March 27 2018. 
| | New | Exploring Post 372 | | | In a community of 200, in Daggett California, Explorer Post 372 was formed with 5 teen Explores in November 2017. We are sponsored through Daggett Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. We are under Boy Scouts of America and Learning for Life, we explore careers in fire, rescue, and emergency medical services. The post also plays a role in volunteering at community events “Hitting for Hope” Thanksgiving Dinner; Sheriff’s Toys for Tots; Community Annual Easter Egg Hunt; just to name a few. We will also be helping our local Historical Society refurbish buildings. Recently we went to Cal-Fire Dispatch to see where our calls begin. the Explorers also received information on how entering the Fire Fighting and Emergency services career. After school and on weekends explorers train, do ride- a-longs and participate in aspects of service calls with our fire station family, while also learning leadership skills. Our Explorers are held to high standards, keeping their grades over 2.0, staying mentally and physically fit, and showing respect even out of the station. We are proud and compassionate in what we do. Our motto: “Do our best to proudly serve self, family, and community”. If a little community can have an Explorer post so can you look for one, or ask your community to start one. Watch out world we are your next generations here to serve you!

Mt. Rubidoux District will conduct Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS), which teaches many of the basic outdoor skills through First Class that adult leaders need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Completing IOLS and Scoutmaster Position (available online) means you are Trained! Both training courses are open to all adults. About IOLS: WHEN: Saturday, April 14. All day. WHERE: Lake Perris Regional Park. COST: $6 (early registration ends April 6) plus park entrance fee. Register Here: Mt Rubidoux IOLS | | New | Scouts lighting the way | | | Scouts from all over the Inland Empire came out on Saturday March 31st to clean and prepare trails leading to the top of Mount Rubidoux for the Easter Sunrise Service being held the following day. These Scouts and many more returned at 3:00 am on Easter morning to light the trails for hikers making their way to the top of the mountain for the Annual Easter Sunrise Services conducted on top of Mount Rubidoux. The Boy Scouts are honored to participate in this service project for the last 101 years.   
| . | New | Fall Wood Badge | | | Dear California Inland Empire Council Scout Leader: My name is Crystal Pastorian, and I am the 2018 Fall Wood Badge Course Director for the California Inland Empire Council. This Wood Badge course is scheduled for August 24th-26th, and September 7th-9th, at beautiful Camp Emerson. First, I would like to thank the many Scout leaders who have already signed up for the Spring Wood Badge Course. For those of you who are thinking about taking this excellent training, it is not too late to sign-up for the fall course. Wood Badge is a council-run, six-day advanced leadership training for all adult Scout leaders. On course, you will learn valuable leadership skills, you can apply not only in Scouting, but in other community organizations, at work or in business, and in your family or personal life. Wood Badge is the very best adult leader training that the council offers, and most importantly, Wood Badge helps units succeed! The course registration fee is $325. | | New | Scout Law Game | | |  Learning the Scout Law will be more enjoyable with a Scout Law game. This game helps Scouts learn all twelve points of the law in order. The idea is to have each point of the Scout Law written on a separate craft stick. Mix up the craft sticks and throw them on the table. Scouts then need to put them in order. It is a puzzle of sorts.For a fun variation, make several sets and mix them together . Have teams race against each other to see who can get all twelve points of the Scout Law in the correct order first. For a more challenging variation, throw in some words which are not part of the Scout Law – happy, grateful, punctual, organized, etc. Scout Law Game Materials - 12 craft sticks per set

Instructions - Write one point of the Scout Law on each stick. (trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, reverent)
- Mix up the sticks and throw them on a table.
- Have the Scouts put the set together in the correct order.
